With continued unrest all around us and uncertainty at almost every corner, there are two things that we can count on to make the world a smaller (and better) place – our children and inclusivity. Both of those themes are front-and-center in this episode as we spend some good time listening to the “kids of the show” (Grace Roberts & Gareth Milwood) as they continue to grow up (way too fast, btw) and we get some fantastic insight from Elizabeth Gieske into women in pinball with a heavy focus on competitive play and how inclusive the hobby is and what works well and what could still use improvement.
We’re also visited by friends of the show David Corrigan and Dan DeBusschere as they sat in with us to talk gaming and their current projects. A good time was had by all.
It’s our hopes that if you weren’t able to join the live broadcast (or if you want to re-listen) then this (and the previous Friday livestream show at ep. 89) will bring some cheer to your shelter-in-place regiment – whatever that may look like.
Wherever you are in the world – we thank you for listening and hope that you and your family are safe and continue to be in good health.
Enjoy the show!
Well, well, well – it had to finally happen. We are a day late on show publishing and I wish we could blame it on border security, government shutdown or the polar vortex, but at the end of it all – it was a failure of our best friend (and arch nemesis): technology. It takes some time to move around the GIGABYTES of unprocessed audio we make for each month’s show and by the time it lands at its final resting spot to become the MP3 we all know and love, our baritone has traversed its way from the moon and back (figuratively). Somewhere over Albuquerque, some archive files bit the dust and we had to retry (and retry) before there was success. But alas, we made it!!
This month we have not only the usual gameroom and hobby updates, but we also hear from a first-timer to the show – Corey Stupp. Corey is the new face behind the Louisville Arcade Expo (and a developer at Stern Pinball) and gives us the low-down on everything we can expect from the 2019 show. We also hear from our friends at Marco Specialities as we do some more floor and booth interviews from the 2018 Grand Ole Gameroom Expo. We then spend some of Brent’s money on my favorite things – Nintendo parts!! Oh – and a new CPS2 infinikey, joystick grommets and all kinds of necessities. We give our best thoughts on the new Munsters Pinball from Stern and then make way for some feedback as well.
We may be a day late (and Brent is a dollar short) but we made it! Thanks for everyone asking “hey – where are you guys?!?!” Makes us feel loved.
Join us for one of the panel discussions we presented at the 2016 Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo.
In this video, we cover what it takes to “shop out” a pinball machine where we discuss everything from maintenance tips and tricks to how to clean and touch up a playfield as well as covering off on some of the higher-level tasks associated with a full-on restoration.
If you want to follow along in the video with the PowerPoint presentation, then you can find a PDF export of the slide deck available below:
This is part 3 of 3 of our coverage from Pinball Expo 2014. This episode is a recording of our livestream show on Saturday, October 18th, where we recap the weekend and talk through everything we’ve seen and what really sticks as we wrap up the expo. We talk about several of the more unique games at Expo, we give EM’s some love and talk about the afternoon’s autograph session (where Whitney goes all fanboi for Steve Richie).
We also spend some time talking to Patrick Wall from Gameroom Junkies to get his comments on the expo as well as listener Shawn O’Shea – who gifted us with some awesome #FAARPARR shirts during the podcasters panel and was a big help to us over the weekend.
As always, remember to check our Facebook Page @ https://facebook.com/brokentoken for LOTS of content in-between the episodes, as Brent and I are keep a lively presence on the podcast page and we enjoy lots of great discussion on trending topics.

This is part 2 of 3 of our coverage from Pinball Expo 2014. This episode is a recording of the panel discussion we participated in entitled “Covering the World of Pinball, One Podcast at a Time”, held on Saturday October 18th. This was a moderated discussion led by Expo organizer David Fix.
Brent and I had the honor of sitting in with an ensemble cast consisting of Preston and Patrick from Gameroom Junkies, Nate from Coast 2 Coast Pinball, Rob Craig from the Silverball Podcast and Charlie, KT, Squirrel, Bug and Bryan Kelly from Spooky Pinball.
The (Bug) Terminator shows up, everyone buys a can of cheese and we all discuss what it’s like to produce our respective shows and involve our families in the podcasts. We revisit some of our favorite episodes and talk about the overall coverage of the world of Pinball – all while having as much fun as possible in the process!
Special thanks go to Shawn O’Shea for pictures and Martin Ayub (PinballNews.com) for pictures and contributing the panel audio!
